Thank you for stopping by to check out Lewes Lettering Co.’s custom wedding invitations!

We are beyond excited to be offering completely custom wedding invitations for couples who know and believe - it’s all in the details.

All our invitation suites feature hand-created calligraphy by Katy, making your wedding stationery completely one of a kind. The beauty of using a calligrapher to create your wedding stationery, is that all pieces from your save the date to your thank you notes will be cohesive and unique!

We also offer many gorgeous embellishments because we believe that your dream suite is created by focusing on the details! A custom monogram wax seal, a hand drawn map of your hometown where you’ll say your “I Dos” and your guest’s names in gorgeous, hand created calligraphy: these are the details that make your wedding invitation unique & memorable.

So please, take a look around & begin to dream up the possibilities. We can’t wait to hear from you.

1

Begin by enquiring through our questionnaire (see below) & give as much detail as you can about your dream suite! After reviewing, we will create a custom proposal for the items you are interested in.

2

After completing the proposal & booking, we will begin by diving in deep to what keeps catching your eye on Pinterest, Instagram, in the magazines or wherever you do your day-dreaming! We’ll chat about how to make these obsessions your wedding reality.

3

Lewes Lettering Co. is first and foremost a calligraphy studio, so that’s where we begin! We will explore and review our different calligraphy styles to decide which best fits your aesthetic.

4

We will take the inspiration we’ve discussed & calligraphy style we’ve decided on to begin our first design round! Going from Invitation to RSVP to your enclosure cards, we will focus on the design of each piece in just black and white, until….

5

Once each piece is designed to perfection we embark on our favorite step - coloring it in! With all your suite’s components laid on a board together, we will try out different combinations of ink colors, paper colors & more until we find what is just right!

7

Last but certainly not least, we will add calligraphy to your guests’ envelopes! We also offer assembly to take advantage of our years of experience in the stationery world - think perfectly placed wax seals & precisely placed stamps. Her energy, patience, and creativity were no match to any other. She created a masterpiece, my custom, dream wedding invitation. After searching the Philadelphia area for a timeless, yet affordable invitation, I was not impressed by the generic designs everyone was selling. Then, Katy came to the rescue, all the way from Lewes, Delaware! Everything I worked on with Katy was one of a kind. I knew I wanted calligraphy on my envelopes, but she was able to incorporate her beautiful handwriting into the entire suite. She completely understood my vision and her genuine excitement made stressful wedding planning such a joy. She truly cared about every detail, which gave me a sense of relief. Communicating through the phone and email was a breeze because she literally answered all my questions and requests immediately. From the first phone call to the very last email, wishing us the best on our actual wedding day, Katy put her all into our wedding invitations. She is a calligrapher, designer, and friend, all in one.

My experience with Katy was, hands down, the best part of planning my wedding!

- Maredith & Justin

We are so thrilled with our wedding invitations and received so many compliments! Katy personally designed our entire wedding suite based on our style, examples we had, and our budget. We were able to work with Katy at each stage of the process, from paper types, monograms, fonts, and wording. Our suite is uniquely our own and represents our wedding perfectly! And that’s before the beautiful calligraphy! We got so many phone calls after our invitations were sent out asking “who? And wow!” Beyond her work, Katy is professional, responsive, accommodating, and collaborative to ensure the finished product is exactly what you want. I cannot say more good things about Katy except to look no further for your wedding invitations and day of needs!"

Katy is amazing to work with and a true professional!

- Nicole & Joe

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and collaborating on weddings together for years. When it came time for our wedding we had a clear vision and wanted a mix of high style, fun, and polish. Its been one of our favorite parts of planning our own wedding and Katy is the reason why. I can't recommend her enough."

Katy’s custom pieces created the most amazing look and completely nail our vision.

- Caitlin & Joe

Katy came highly recommended by two of my friends! I could not have been happier with the final product - every detail from the invitations to the dinner menus caught the attention of my guests.
Katy is super passionate about her work and superseded all my expectations! I had an exceptional experience and will use Katy's services again in the future. Thank you for everything, Katy!

Yes, we are happy to send you paper samples and samples of past invitations when possible!

Because our process is completely custom, we ideally like to begin the process 6-10 months before your big day!

Absolutely! We are here for you from beginning to end - i.e. from save the dates all the way to thank you notes & everything in between! Check out our Day-Of stationery page to check out everything we offer.

We offer three methods that are sure to make you swoon!

Raised ink printing creates a beautiful textured ink that sits on top of the many heavy card stock colors available. We can also print your invitation on acrylic or fabric! Metallic colors look especially beautiful in raised-ink, but we can print in any color. Raised-ink printing is priced per ink color because each color must be inked individually.

Letterpress is a printing technique in which a raised plate of your invitation design is inked and pressed onto luxurious cotton paper. The pressure of the transfer leaves the cotton paper with a deep impression of your invitation. Each piece of paper is hand-fed through an antique printing press by a local, Delaware printer. Letterpress printing is priced per ink color because each color must make a pass through the printer.

Foil printing is a printing technique in which a metal plate of your invitation design is heated and then stamped with enough pressure to transfer a thin layer of the foil onto the paper. Foil printing is priced per color because each color must make a pass through the printer. Unlike raised-ink printing, foil printing will create an impression into the paper.
